Mac Catalyst app for Apple silicon. First launch creates an empty household database on this Mac — set an unlock code, then fill in accounts, steps, files, and contacts. Data stays local unless you use Back up this guide. If macOS blocks the app, right-click Open, or use Open Anyway under Privacy & Security.

- Unzip the folder. Drag Left For You.app to Applications, or double-click it in the unzipped folder.
- This copy starts empty — no accounts or files are included. Choose an unlock code of at least four characters; a short phrase your spouse will remember is better than 1234.
- If macOS says it could not verify the app, click Done (not Move to Trash). Then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to Left For You. You only do this once.
- Use Settings for names and the Home letter, then add Contacts, Accounts, Files, and Steps. Turn on Lock editing when the guide is ready.
